Places To Visit: Longstock Farm Shop & Cafe , Leckford Estate, Hampshire
The Waitrose & Partners Farm, located just a few minutes drive from Stockbridge, the wonderful Hampshire village. The Estate itself is over 2,800 acres. We would recommend visiting the Longstock Farm Shop & Cafe. It is a charming and picturesque destination nestled in the heart of the tranquil countryside, widely recognised for its unwavering commitment to quality and sustainability.
The shop offers an impressive and diverse selection of locally sourced produce, artisan goods, and organic products, making it a go-to spot for those seeking fresh ingredients and unique culinary treats. Visitors can explore fresh produce, homemade preserves, and gourmet snacks, all thoughtfully curated to support local suppliers in the surrounding community.
The estate itself has been run for over 90 years and is cared for by over 100 of the John Lewis Partners. As well as the Farm Shop and nursery located at the estate, the estate offers both golf and fishing. However, the golf at this moment in time is members only and there is no pay and play option. The estate offers two different options for their fishing, lake fishing, which is all year round and river fishing which is 1st May - 15th October.
Another addition to the estate is the Water Garden, entry is available to the public between 2nd April - 31st October (Tuesday - Sunday, 10am - 3:30pm). Entry is £10 per person for adults, £5 for under 16s and free for all those under 5 years of age. If you are making the trip down to the farm shop, it may be worth it to see more of the estate. Of course, this is totally up to you.
Once you have been around the public areas of the estate and you have decided that fishing or the water garden aren’t really for you, you have the option of heading down to the Peat Spade Inn, roughly a 3 or 4 minute drive away. The link to the Peat and Spade is below, it really is a great country pub:
